Traditional Medicine Consultant Our traditional medical consultation provides you with the all of the facts and options related to you and your situation. Our staff is with you every step of the way to help you make informed decisions based on traditional medical treatment strategies.
Traditional Native American Healers Influenced by the Traditional Medicine Initiative by Dr. Trujillo, past director of Indian Health Service, a Traditional Medicine Practioner was added to the staff at WIHCC in 1996. The program began as a four-month pilot stuudy which was expanded to a service provided three days a week. Our Traditional Practioner, Jones Benally is available to patients and staff to discuss traditional beliefes, values, and practices. His position is mainly advisory, but he may perform simple blessings and prayers, as indicated, prepare herbal remedies, and recommend ceremonies. There was an overwhelming response to this program, which continues today expanded to a full time permanent program".
