Recognizing Nursing Excellence

For most, nursing is not just a profession or a job. Nursing is a calling. Satisfaction in a job well done is rewarding in itself. Still, recognition of excellence from peers and nursing leaders is more gratifying. WIHCC Nursing fully supports and participates in the following nurse recognition programs:

DAISY AWARD FOUNDATION

Winslow Indian Health Care Center fully supports and participates in The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by his parents after his nurses demonstrated and gave skillful and amazingly compassionate care during his hospitalization. The Daisy Award honors an outstanding nurse for all they do for patients and families. Any nurse can be nominated by nurses and other staff as well as doctors, patients or family members. Nomination forms can be found throughout WIHCC, Leupp and Dilkon. Awards are presented each quarter. Please take some time today to consider nominating a well deserving WIHCC nurse. National Nursing Leadership Council (NNLC)

The highly competitive Nurse of the Year award is given by NNLC in recognition of outstanding and noteworthy accomplishments such as: contributions to the improvement of health of the AI/AN population, contributions to the nursing process, demonstration of high degrees of competence. The Nurse of the Year award is given in the following categories:
