At Winslow Indian Health Care Center (WIHCC) we have a dedicated Safety Program as well as a Patient Advocate; they collaborate with WIHCC Staff regarding patient safety issues or concerns.
WIHCC is committed to providing excellent care and keeping patients, visitors, and staff safe. Consistent with this mission, the Administration has established and provides ongoing support for the Safety Program. The Safety Program addresses activities and technology required, identifying and minimizing risk determined to be significant, within all of the building and on all the grounds operated or occupied by the WIHCC.

WIHCC Safety Program has also developed a brochure outlining important items to ensure your safety while you are a patient or visitor with our health care organization. One important element is the WIHCC staff will repeatedly ask to verify any identification when being seen at WIHCC and will follow in protecting your protected health information. Information below are key ways to ensure your safety and to keep our reputation as a good quality health care.
Patient & Visitor incident reporting
WIHCC is committed to the prevention of all injuries/incidents and to identify and correct a hazard before an injury occurs. The facility uses a standardized incident reporting system, known as WebCident. The system was developed to record incidents related to the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
Definition: An injury/incident is defined as an unintended or unplanned occurrence that results in:
1. Injury or illness to personnel;
All injuries/incidents are investigated and reported using WebCident by the supervisor responsible for the area of occurrence or to the Safety Officer. The final review will be the Safety Officer. In the event of a Patient Fall, the Quality Management Director is responsible for reviewing patient fall incidents.
